OBSIDE began in 2019 in a converted print shop, with one perfumer and one rule: make every composition as an extrait, or not at all. No lighter flankers, no seasonal editions — six scents, made properly.

1998The first notebookAt nineteen, our perfumer starts a notebook of accords in a boarding house above a Grasse distillery. Page one: birch tar.

2009Twelve years at the benchComposing quietly for other houses teaches one lesson above all: most perfume is diluted until it is polite.

2019A print shop and a ruleOBSIDE opens in a converted print shop with a single rule: every composition is an extrait, or it is not made.

2021Noir AbsoluThe first extrait. Four hundred hand-filled bottles, sold in nine days to people who had never heard of us.

2023The resting roomWe build our own maceration room. Every batch now rests six weeks in the dark before it is filtered.

2026Six extraitsThe collection is complete: six compositions, one discovery set, and a waiting list we are not in a hurry to clear.

Concentration

Every OBSIDE fragrance is an extrait at 30% perfume oil — roughly double a typical eau de parfum. One spray on skin lasts the day.

Time

Each batch rests for six weeks before filling. The materials marry, the edges settle, and the scent reads the same from the first drop to the last.

Hands

Bottles are filled, capped and numbered by hand in our atelier, in runs of four hundred. When a batch is gone, the next one takes its time.
